Hello, and welcome to ZKCtranslations. I'm Zoë, a professional freelance translator, and I offer translation services from Italian and Spanish into English. Aside from translation, I can also help you with editing, and transcribing services.

 

I have had a passion for languages and foreign cultures for as long as I can remember, and after finishing my A-Levels, I went to read Modern Languages at the University of Leicester, England. Before graduating, I participated in the ERASMUS Mundus program, which gave me the opportunity to study abroad for an academic year at the University of Salamanca, Spain and the University of Pavia, Italy. This experience was one of the best years of my life as it gave me the chance to live abroad and meet students from all over the world, make international friends, learn about different cultures and above all, improve my knowledge of both Spanish and Italian considerably.

 

After graduating, I was accepted onto the Masters program in Translation and Professional Language Skills at the University of Bath, England. I then completed a 3 month internship at Wolfestone Translation Ltd. based in Swansea, Wales. This experience helped me come into contact with the world of translation, and form part of a diverse team in an exciting environment. Aside from completing translations, I also worked as their in-house editor.

 

Immediately after the internship, I started working as a freelance translator, and founded ZKCtranslations.

 

I live in South Wales with my husband, our two daughters and cocker spaniel, and when not at my desk translating, I love being outdoors taking photos. I am a keen amateur photographer, and I hope you like some of my favourite photos from both Spain and Italy on this website. I also love travelling, skiing, and long walks along the Welsh coastline.
